How, in the small college town of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, the public interest collides with the private interests of Swarthmore College, when the College wants to build a hotel/inn/conference center in the center of the village.
The inn/hotel is supported by Borough Council, the Mayor and the local town newspaper, The Swarthmorean. Some in town object, citing loss of green space, increased traffic, and the presence of a bar in a dry town. |
